USES/SOURCES: In the production of polymethyl methacrylate for use in acrylic sheets and mouldings, extrusion powder, acrylic surface coatings, printing inks and adhesives used in surgery and dentistry.
TOXICOLOGY: Is an irritant of the eyes, skin and mucous membranes. The toxic effects appear to be due to the monomer; the polymer seems to be inert.
